VOYAGE AU CENTRE DU MONDE
Non con trivelle o aerei. Non su questo o quel territorio (parola che contiene ed evoca terrore), ma una terra di nessuno che si scopre terra comune. Osservando e disegnando, scrivendo e annotando, tracciando o riportando pensieri, micro immagini, apparenti facezie o vivide apparizioni.
Quando il diario, o l’arte, non racconta le proprie vicissitudini esistenziali ma quello che si incontra, si vede, si tocca, si immagina, come anche di pensieri e osservazioni che troviamo veri, diventa il mezzo essenziale di una conoscenza e centramento che si realizza proprio attraverso il diario e la ricreazione artistico poetica. Diventa un’autoritratto del mondo in cui l’io si allenta e si dimentica di sé. Un’uscita dal mondo allora, ma per ritrovarlo dall’interno, frammento dopo frammento, pagina dopo pagina, immagine dopo immagine, giorno dopo giorno. Chi pratica questi cammini testimonia una condotta frugale, estranea alle costruzioni dell’arte e della letteratura (dove l’opera, come il sé, si gonfia), procede con un andamendo walseriano più che beuysiano (o wharoliano). Questa condotta frugale tiene aperta la porta della meraviglia senza l’aiuto delle maiuscole, ad incominciare da quella di opera o di io, o del mercato e delle riverenze. Non importano centimetri o volume. Il centro (abbiamo detto) e non superfici o ingombri.
In oriente direbbero che è questione di “terzo occhio”, da noi forse di “sesto senso” (quando quelli dell’attaccamento e del rigonfiamento perdono importanza).

VOYAGE AU CENTRE DU MONDE
Not with drills or planes. Not on this or that territory (a word that contains and evokes terror), but a no man’s land that turns out to be common land. Observing and drawing, writing and annotating, tracing or reporting thoughts, micro images, apparent jokes or vivid apparitions.
When the diary, or art, does not tell one’s existential vicissitudes but what one encounters, sees, touches, imagines, as well as thoughts and observations that we find true, it becomes the essential means of a knowledge and centering that it is realized precisely through the diary and poetic artistic recreation. It becomes a self-portrait of the world in which the ego loosens up and forgets itself. An exit from the world then, but to rediscover it from within, fragment after fragment, page after page, image after image, day after day. Those who practice these paths testify to a frugal conduct, extraneous to the constructions of art and literature (where the work, like the self, swells), proceeds with a Walserian rather than a Beuysian (or Warholian) trend. This frugal conduct keeps the door of marvel open without the help of capital letters, starting with that of work or me, or of the market and curtsies. It doesn’t matter centimeters or volume. The center (we said) and not surfaces or obstructions.
In the East they would say that it is a matter of the “third eye”, in Italy perhaps of the “sixth sense” (when those of attachment and swelling lose importance).
